I did it again tonight.Many read collections like this one poem at a time, but Pat Mottola’s Under the Red Dress won’t let you do that. You will want to read the next one, and the one after that, until before you realize it, you have finished the book.
These poems are poignant, sensual, sardonic, and nostalgic. They are sad, bittersweet, naughty, and nice. They speak of decadent thoughts, happy memories, and painful losses. These poems will evoke a range of emotions; tears will flow from a raucous laugh or a heartrending sadness.
Either way, “their breathless bouquet (leaves you) lusting for more.”
